Thought I would do something different today and share with you a special video of mine! It is called "Horrorshow," and I made this a few years ago while at college just as an experimental video for fun. Our teacher had taught us about a type of experimental film called video feedback, where you hook up a video camera to a TV to show what it is recording and then point the video camera at the TV so that it is basically looking at itself. It makes all these cool patterns and stuff if you do it right, but my first experimentation with it didn't work out so well! Then I was just playing around, pointing the camera at the TV while watching a movie and I got the idea to do it with some classic horror movies, reframing these classic images with my camera. "Red Right Hand," by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, was my first and only choice for the music. The lyrics and sound of the music fit my theme absolutely perfectly, and since I had such a great song to work with, editing the footage was easy. My teacher really liked it and I got a lot of compliments on it when everyone in our class showed our videos to big group of students.
For anybody that might not know, the movies in the video are House on Haunted Hill
, Night of the Living Dead
, Friday the 13th
, The Evil Dead
, and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
. Enjoy!
